Dr. Riggin strongly values the intersectionality between mental health, the justice system, and broader community-based factors that shape individual and family outcomes. She believes effective advocacy requires not only clinical expertise, but also an understanding of how trauma, socioeconomic stressors, family systems, educational access, and community support networks influence long-term wellbeing. Her professional approach emphasizes collaboration across disciplines to help ensure vulnerable individuals and families receive compassionate, informed, and equitable support across systems.

Dr. Riggin aspires in the future to increase her time spent working with Veterans outside of the VA hospital setting and hopes to pursue additional training and education in the area of Disaster Psychology.

In her free time, Dr. Riggin enjoys spending time outdoors, listening to live music, painting, enjoying time with family and friends, and caring for her rescued cat, Ghost.
